The internet, we are told, is “going to be the most powerful tool of our time”.
But the truth is that it is not yet.
What we have now is a massive infrastructure of technologies, many of them developed for very specific applications.
For example, mobile apps are designed to be useful for many purposes.
Yet in many cases they may be more valuable for the reasons listed above.
Some of them may not be useful at all.
In other words, the internet is still far from perfect.
And it will be far more powerful than we think.
